SELF GOAL #4:Further proof Udupi media crossed the line by videotaping/photographing inside Trauma Theatre and distracting medical staff

This again is a screenshot from video taken by Sijith of Udupi Channel. You can see that despite doctor’s protest, media continued to videotape inside Trauma center of Kasturba Hospital Manipal. Left to the sign “Operation Theatre” is “Resuscitation room” – this is where the whole incident took place.

Further evidence journalists of Udupi intruded Operation Theatre and prevented doctors from conducting emergency operation on severly injured patients

For those still arguing on “Freedom of Press” this should be an eyeopener. Imagine you or your dear ones in Operation Theatre undergoing emergency treatment from an accident. Do you want media to come there and shoot you without your permission?

Greetings from Charleson, North Carolina USA. Impressive blog. I was bit disturbed on why media is even allowed inside the hospital in the first place? Or did they gatecrash?

Patient privacy is one of the most important here in US – not just as a matter of legal aspects, but also it is human decency to respect people who are injured and suffering.

Media as a rule is not allowed inside hospitals and usually hospital has a dedicated Media Contact who briefs press on any updates.

Hope government of India and medical establishment in India comes up with a policy on how far media can go when it involves patient privacy and dignity.
